Bianca Wargo
Psychology and English Writing Double Major at Kean University
Life and Experience
Born and raised in rural, northern New Jersey, Bianca Iris Wargo is an avid creative writer that is currently working on her first book, as well as curating a potential poetry collection. With a fascination with psychology, she's always writing pieces and stories that explain and/or evoke emotions and sensations involved in mental health issues; especially as a trauma survivor herself, her work tends to reflect the issues she faces or witnesses other people experience.
At fifteen years old, Wargo took her first job as a lifeguard, and has since grown to take other lifeguarding jobs at Tomahawk Lake Waterpark, and Picatinny MWR's Frog Falls. Going on to her fourth season at Frog Falls this year as a Lead Lifeguard (since COVID closed the park in 2020), she'll be supervising and working with lifeguards with general maintenance of the park and pool systems. She also teaches swim lessons a the park.
While away from Frog Falls in 2020, Bianca took a position as an order fulfillment associate at the Dover Home Depot. She is now learning other departments = as she's currently a customer service associate and has learned a lot from other departments as an order picker such as garden, hardware, and electrical.
Currently in school, Wargo has amassed 76 credits and is balancing another 12 this spring alongside her work at The Home Depot, volunteering as a coach at Pope John, and family. Last spring at the university, she also swam for the Kean University swim team– she only left due to COVID– and improved her personal best times across all of her main events, the 500 freestyle, and the 100 and 200 backstroke, and also earned a school record in the 800 freestyle relay– this all with only about six weeks of training. While her third semester at Kean continues, she plans to return to Frog Falls Waterpark for the summer of 2021, if the coronavirus pandemic subsides. In the meantime, she currently searching for internship opportunities in the mental health field– particularly dealing with trauma psychology.
As well as her academics, she's working on her childhood dream of becoming a published author. Though both of her current projects are in early stages, Bianca is determined to fulfill the goals she's set for herself, driven by her deep-seated passion for writing and arts of any kind.
