I understand the argument for the pro-choice people out there, and I agree, every individual should have that choice, as every individual's free will is as sacred as our right to life. However, every individual should also really be given the time to think and educate themselves about the risks of abortion, especially with the limited sex education I and probably many other young Americans receive or have received.
That said, I’m still pro-life, I just don’t want to force my beliefs on anyone else. As a Christian, I believe that our free will is a sacred gift as well. But I find it funny how so few of you pro-choice people know about a Supreme Court case by the name of Buck v. Bell from 1927, that ruled eugenics laws as constitutional. What’s eugenics, and what kind of laws does this constitute? Let me outline it for you.
Eugenics, according to the Oxford dictionary, is defined as “the study of how to arrange reproduction within a human population to increase the occurrence of heritable characteristics regarded as desirable.” The laws under this definition didn’t limit who mated with who, but rather who could even produce. The eugenics movement in America in the early to mid 1900’s included a lot of forced sterilizations of people ruled to be “unfit” by courts. Those who were ruled as such were mostly women who were minorities and/or with some sort of disability or disorder whether psychological or physiological. How is this pro-choice if you’re taking someone’s choice away?
I’d also like to point out to the feminists out there that yes, this ruling and these laws were largely created by white men, and the eugenics movement was largely headed by Republicans in the very beginning. However, even once Republicans saw the error in these ways, it was California, a Democrat-ruled state, that led the charge in legitimate practices of eugenics, and failed to repeal their eugenics laws until the 1970’s. But even once they were repealed, some of these practices [of forced sterilization] continued in some prisons.
Another thing I’d like to point out: if the government is forcing a sterilization (or in some ways a precise mutilation of the sexual organs) on someone, doesn’t that sound a lot like sexual assault at the hands of the very government that vowed to protect and serve the people? As a victim of sexual harassment and assault, this is exactly how I see it. Ever seen tea consent? It’s the same idea.
So as I said, in democrat-ruled California some forced sterilizations were performed in some women’s prisons even after repealing eugenics laws. Most recently it was revealed that from 2006-2010, about 144 women— largely black and other minority women— were forcibly sterilized, or proper consent protocols were not observed. It’s believed that many women may not even know that they were sterilized, according to California Legislature No. 3052 from May 2020. The state legislature also acknowledges that there has been no public apology or compensation issued for those affected.
Why is this relevant right now? Because Kamala Harris’s home state was once, and maybe still is, the nation's leader in eugenics practices. Harris was DA of San Francisco until 2011, the year after the last known forcibly or unwittingly sterilized woman in a California state institution of any kind. The now-senator became the Attorney General of the state the year after this, and even once it was discovered and acknowledged, she said nothing— did nothing— to do right by those women. If you really think that Kamala Harris is every female’s ticket into the White House, think again. She doesn’t represent women, she represents herself. We saw that in the elitist attitude she held during her debate with Vice President Pence. We saw that in how she laughed off so quickly changing her stance on believing Tara Reade from the Democratic debates to after taking her spot as Biden’s running mate. We see that in how she has failed to acknowledge, let alone do anything right by these women who were in essence sexually assaulted by practitioners of her state’s government.
And why is it so important that we see this truth about her? Because she will be president when sleepy Joe Biden finally admits he’s not mentally or physically fit to run the country.
We need someone in the executive office of the United States that not only respects life, but also respects choice. We need a president that will fight to get rulings like Buck v. Bell and laws or policies like Obamacare (which did cause a hike in healthcare prices for a majority of the middle class, punished people for not having healthcare they may not even need, and gave Medicare to non-citizens from taxpayer dollars instead of letting people donate their own money to help those that need it). Biden is not it. Harris is not it. More government will become socialism. What we are witnessing right now with the left is something of another Red Scare from communists, socialists, and marxists. They are literally plotting it out right in front of our very eyes.
So I beg you all to think about who really has Americans’ best interests at heart right now, or at least who has more of our best interests at heart. Who has told the American people more about what is going on and what their plans are to help the people they serve? Who did or didn’t contribute to a failing system of mass incarceration, currently in need of vast and radical, psychology and science-based reforms? Who has been working tirelessly to even try to fix the mess that the 1994 Crime Bill created. Who helped build the cages and awful facilities that immigrants stay at until they are granted or denied access into America? Who denied more people a life of opportunity in the United States? Who appointed the first and second mother to ever be the White House press secretary? Who invested in the run-down areas of cities to fix crumbling infrastructure and create jobs, calling them “opportunity zones” instead of ghettos and the like? Who has repeatedly (despite false media reports) condemned white supremacy and hateful, violent, radical groups on either side of the political spectrum, while his opponent has tried to confine minorities into the little box of taken-for-granted minorities, including black Americans? I could go on with so many questions to consider relating to who has the American people's interests at heart, but there are too many questions to ask before you head to the polls. Don’t rely on one fact-checker or one source. Do your own research using sources from all kinds of media, whether conservative, lebritarian, Democrat, Marxist, left, right… do your research on all of it. Get every angle, not just the angles spoon-fed to you by the major media networks. (Think about what a lack of research by CNN, the Washington Post, and others did to Nick Sandmann's life almost two years ago now.)
But in saying all of this, I’d also like to call on President Trump to push for a review of Buck v. Bell in the Supreme Court once the vacant seat is filled. As a vocal proponent for the pro-life movement, I know that overturning this case should be near the top of your list as Roe v. Wade is. Please, Mr. President, this ruling must be overturned as it’s a flagrant violation of the constitutional rights of anyone affected by the eugenics movement that yes, has lost a majority of its traction, but still must be put to an end in America once and for all out of respect for the potential within every human life– every American life.
I’d also like to ask Senator Harris: why haven’t you said or done anything in regard to this issue, yet you still claim to be pro-choice?
